Welcome to Mena, Arkansas' only
fully-equipped, handicapped-accessible lakefront vacation rental. However it is not just for people who are
handi-capped! And it is not just for groups. A variety of people have enjoyed Handi-Retreat. We enjoy welcomeing couples,
families, single people, groups of people with their traylors full of 4-wheel ATVs, bikers, church pasters
and anyone else eager to enjoy the beauty of the man made lake, catching fish, playing pool, going out in the paddle boat,
Bar B Q picnics etc. Dogs have enjoyed useing the Peer as a dog run, and children delight in safely riding
their trikes and peddle cars back and forth on the peer as their parents fish! children also enjoy sitting on a stool
that is provided near the Gazebo at the end of the peer and rejoice when they quickly catch some of the many fish awaiting
the worm at the end of their line. Everyone enjoys throwing out fish food and watching the fish jump to the surface of Rosie's
Glen Lake.
Take a ride in a complimentary paddle boat, and
enjoy a picnic on your own semi-private island in Rosie's Glen Lake.

Watch ducks swimming on the
lake and revel in the grandeur of nature from the gazebo on your private pier. You will find some great photo opts here:
Snap a picture when someone beams with joy holding the catfish or bass they caught, catch a shot of the fish jumping to the
surface after you throw in a scoop of fish food, get a great picture of the Buffallo grazing on the green grass, how
about a picture of someone going out in the paddle boat, better yet what about taking pictures in the paddle boat of your
family members fishing on the peer. At Handi-Retreat you are createing memories that will last a life time so be sure to capture
some of those memories on film. |

Enjoy...
awaking each morning to a panoramic view of beautiful Rosie's Glen Lake. The aroma of freshly
brewed coffee calls to you from your fully-equipped kitchen, where you make your plans for the day. Are you ready to
traylor your 4-wheel ATVs that have been safely mounted on your traylor behild closed gates, just 8-10 miles down the
road to Wolf Pin Gap., and enjoy the day 4 wheeling, then access our water hose to spray them down for another day of excitement!
Perhaps you just prefer a laid back day: maybe you'll head out to your private pier and
try your luck at fishing. Or maybe you'd prefer to hop in one of the complimentary paddle boats and enjoy a picnic brunch
on your semi-private lake island. On the other hand, the indoor hot tub and infrared spa look very tempting! For lunch, you
decide to take a 5-minute drive into town to check out one of Mena's charming family-owned restaurants. Their is a great Italian
restrauant, everyone that loves Italian food will be eager to feast at Spanallies, or if you like Mexican food
we recommend Papa Palvanoes. Maybe Chinese is your choice, if so, you will love the China Restaurant. For Bar B Q, catfish,
or burgers and great deserts the Log, Cabin and Branding Iron are hard to beat. the list goes on from great
coffee shops like the friendship House and True North. Do you prefer county cooking at Grumpies? The list goes on.
Or why not save the money and time waiting to be server and cook up your own feast, your way, on your
choice of Gas or Charcoal/wood Bar B Q.
When you simply can't eat another bite, you enjoy a liesurely stroll
through the art gallery on Mena Street and then visit the historic train depot and museum, around the corner on Sherwood Avenue.
Perhaps you'll spend the rest of the afternoon discovering Mena's unique shops and craft boutiques. No ... today you're in
the mood for adventure! So you decide to take a 10-minute drive up Queen Whilimena or Rich Mountain to try out your
new hiking boots.
As evening approaches, you hurry back to the retreat to shower, change, and grab your tickets for tonight's performance at
the award-winning Ouachita Little Theatre. And when it's eventually time to turn in, you find yourself thinking about all
of the fun things you didn't get to do today - ATVing at near-by Wolf Pin Gap, rafting on the Cossatot River,
exploring the Talimena Scenic Trail, playing pool in your private game room. But then you realize there's no need to fret
- you reserved the whole week!

Two living room recliners provide
the ultimate comfort. One accommodates those who need assistance standing; the other offers heating and massage options.

A super-lush living room sofa
contains two additional recliners - perfect for watching TV, relaxing to your favorite music, or reading a good book.

The spacious master bedroom offers
a king size bed with high quality mattress, private bath, lake views, and plenty of storage for your belongings.

A second lake-view bedroom offers
a queen bed with high quality mattress, a charming rustic motif, and ample space for two.
|
The third bedroom sports space-efficient
bunk beds, with a lower bunk that converts from a double bed to a sofa.
|
The fourth bedroom iis equipped
with a professional hospital bed, a foldable wheelchair, a desk, and a computer.
|
An eat-in kitchen features
a formal dining set with all dinnerware, flatware, glassware, cookware, and linens.
|
Kitchen appliances include a double-door
refrigerator, oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster oven, and coffee maker.

Adjacent to the kitchen is a separate
laundry room (far right) with large-capacity top-loading washer and dryer.

The handicapped-accessible bathroom
features a pedestal sink, shower with transfer seat, customized commode, and security bars throughout.

The private master bath boasts
a step-up Roman tub, a separate glass-enclosed shower stall, and a large vanity with ample under-sink storage.
|
The hall bathroom, which is across from
the queen bedroom and next to the bunk bedroom, features a combo tub/shower and a vanity with under-sink storage.

An indoor hot tub accommodates
two. The gentle ripple of nearby fountains creates a truly relaxed atmosphere.

The infrared sauna is equipped
with its own CD player. CD's, bath robes, and slippers are provided free of charge.

A detached game room offers various
indoor recreation options while ensuring peace and quiet in the main house.

Guests with children will love the
private, fence-enclosed playground, which includes, swings, rings, a slide, and much more.

A private covered bridge adds a
touch of nostalgia to the scenery and provides access to the other side of the lake.
